Wedding inspiration
I check wedding blogs just about everyday now. Once Wed is an absolute favorite of mine. I probably check it more than I should. I can only hope our own wedding will be as amazing as those on their website.
I came across an entry on Once Wed and it had a vintage marriage certificate and I got to a lookin' on the internets..

I will definitely be buying one of these and hanging it on the wall after our wedding. Ooh, I can't wait!
I have been looking at dresses non stop. I can't decide what I want in the long run. I haven't tried any on, but I found a couple that I love.
Anything Melissa Sweet basically...
I just discovered this dress tonight...may I introduce to you, Dora.

Ruffles! Polka dots! Oh my!
Is this not the sweetest dress ever? I am in loooove.
Another Melissa Sweet gown..
This is Maddie.

Tiny little bows all over the skirt! Love it!
Anywhoo-I will update when we actually find a location. It's the hardest part!
Take a gander at this website. This farm is near Asheville, NC. It's so dreamy.
Claxton Farm
I think that's it for now. Back to venue finding!

Big news...
In case you haven't heard, J and I are now engaged! I couldn't be happier! J surprised me with a trip to Chicago and Stephanie and Zach came along, too. It was such a fun trip. Basically, John and I ate our way through the city. We ate at Handlebar, Pick Me Up Cafe, The Chicago Diner, and Karyn's Cooked. Everything was delicious and ridiculously filling. The best french toast you have ever eaten is at Pick Me Up. I definitely recommend going to the Windy City if you get a chance.
John proposed when we had a moment together alone in the apartment where we were staying. It was very sweet and completely unexpected. We headed down to the bar and surprised Zach and Steph with our announcement. The bartender even took care of our drinks for us! The bar, The Twin Anchors, can been seen in The Dark Knight. It's something they are very proud of and rightfully so.
Now comes the hard part. Planning a wedding! I am so inspired by DIYers and everything over at Once Wed. We are still thinking of a date since I will be in school full time over the next couple of years. Spring break, anyone?
I will try to keep this updated with wedding news, inspiration I have, and even questions.

I've been tagged!
So, Miss Nicole tagged me...I didn't see it until now. Oops!
Here are ten random thing about me.
1. I am almost 25 years old and I am just now getting into college. I've taken a few classes here and there, but this time, it's the real deal.
2. My favorite clothes to wear are American Apparel v-neck t-shirts. I live in them!
3. I have been a nanny to the same family for 2.5 years. I don't ever want to leave!
4. I have been vegetarian for 6.5 years total and vegan for a little over 4 years.
5. I'm the youngest of three kids.
6. My two dogs, Albert and Penelope, are some of the best things in life. I'm that crazy dog lady.
7. I love, love living in Atlanta because of my family and friends, but I would like to live somewhere else one day. It's such a scary thought!
8. I need a sound machine to sleep. It's a little, round machine that only makes white noise. I've used one for 10+ years.
9. I am in love with a boy.
10. I used to be a teeny bopper!

LOST
..it's a blowin' my mind right now.
Last night's episode made my brain hurt. I am certain that the new character "Ellie" is in fact Eloise Hawking and therefore Farraday's mama! Aaaaand that Widmore is the father.
Discuss.

Happy New Year!
Hello! I thought I'd try to get back into the habit of actually keeping up a blog. I'm not very good at it as you can tell. Let's get down to business.
-I started school. Again. Woo! English 1101 and World History 1112 from 1500 are my classes. It should be interesting since my history teacher is a total nutcase. He doesn't believe in global warming..at all. My english teacher seems nice enough, nothing too exciting. I'm kind of excited about school this time. There's no math involved, that's why! The first time I've taken classes and there's not a math class in there. We'll see how the semester goes.
-In other news, The Graveyard is having a vegan night every Thursday. Last week was the first and it was okay. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. It's set up as a three course meal, so there's no picking and choosing, but I understand since it's new and I think it's to test to see if they would do well with a permanent vegan menu. John and I split our meal in case it wasn't good and also to save some cash. It's just fun to go and hang out with your friends. I'll have to get there late since my last class gets out at 8:15.
-I think I have posted resolutions on this blog before, but I probably didn't accomplish any of them and they're most likely the same resolutions I have this year, so I'll spare you the reading.
-Right now I am at work, but not working. How, you ask? Well, Amelia is at school and Lola had a doctors appointment and her mother took her. So, I'm sitting here doing this. It's very strange. I did empty the dishwasher and clean up the kitchen and play areas, but now I'm just sitting here waiting on them to get home so I can do my job. She should have just told me to come in later. I guess I can't complain, I am getting paid right now. Wait, am I?
-Lost starts in ONE WEEK!! I cannot wait! I need to refresh myself on last season. It's going to be amazing this season, I just know it.
I heard Abi's car alarm, gotta go!

Third time's the charm..right?
So, here we go. Again.
We did some power shopping on Sunday with our realtor, Tracy(technically, we have two!). She's awesome and was ready to show us 25 houses if we need to look at that many. Thankfully, we narrowed it down to about 15. We didn't go in all of them, but we went in about 9. Three were on the potential list. 2 we loved, one was if nothing else worked. The first one we just about died for was a long shot, naturally. It was a foreclosure though so our realtor said go for it. The other was more of a realistic one and we still loved. Needed some minor improvements, but nothing too big (that we know of anyway). The two were both on the same street, incidentally. So, today we went to Tracy's office and she did all the paperwork on the smaller, more realistic house since the other house already had an offer in on it. So, John signed a lot of papers and we got everything faxed and ready to go. Now, we wait.
I just want this all to be over!
wish us luck! (and patrick and lisa, too!)

News
Long time, no post! I think I say that every time.
Well, we were supposed to be in our new house by now. Oops.
The story goes that the sellers attorneys did a tiny thing called a title search and found one minor little, tiny, itsy problem.
The house belongs to 10 people. What the fuck?! And, somehow they can't find two of the people or some stupidness like that. So, now we have to wait for the lawyers to get the executives of the will/estate to say they can sell the house. It's something like 30-45 days. Yipee.
We are still in Decatur.
Onto better news..we may be going to Portland in the near future! Like, for real! Possibly going to Seattle, too! My first plane ride..I hope I don't hurl!

Update
Penelope (and Albert) are both fine after yesterday.
Here's what happened...
I got home Monday afternoon and noticed a lot of throw up around the house and was a little worried, so I looked around. While the dogs were outside I noticed the ibuprofen bottle on the floor. Empty and with chew marks on the bottle. Needless to say, I freaked out. I ran outside and noticed Albert pooping not normal poop and Penelope just standing there kind of swaying back and forth. I called John and told him I was taking the both of them to the vet.
I rushed them to Dearborn in Decatur ( I highly recommend this vet. They care more about the animals than they do money). I got into the exam room and the vet looked at them and said Penelope just looked like a dog that didn't feel good. As the vet went to grab Penelope's leash, she got scared and started barking at the doc. Albert joined in, too. I calmed them both down and the vet took Penelope back and started to try to get charcoal into her system. The vet came back and said that they were going to have to sedate her because she was scared and snapping at everyone. I could hear her screaming and crying as they started to sedate her. Albert even started whining because he could hear her..it was awful. I was crying, too.
The vet came back and told me that they got the charcoal in her system and she was resting while the medicine worked. Next, it was Albert's turn. I got to help with this. The vet took a giant syringe and filled it with black, tarry charcoal. We opened Albert's mouth and down it went. He took it like a champ. All vets have told me he's the perfect patient.
A few minutes later they brought Penelope back into the exam room and by this time John had arrived. Penelope was totally out of it and just laid down. The vet gave us instructions and off we went home. I had to stop to get some meds for the pups. All night Penelope just slept. She was not herself and very lethargic. We got a little worried and called the emergency vet, but they said that was normal. We had to wake up at 3 and 6 am to give them their meds.
So, all in all it's been a stressful couple of days. Everyone is fine, but a little tired.
Goodnight!

2008
Holy shit, it's been a long time since I've posted.
Some news I guess had happened. I am now nanny to two little girls. Lola was born back on October and is so much fun to be around.
Also, little Liam entered the world, too. We have yet to meet, but hopefully soon!
What else..I took a semester of math. failed. that was fun...hopefully going back to school in summer. I need to save some funds for that. Hopefully I'll take two classes!
It's a whole new year and that means resolutions! I never formally make any, but I always have some floating somewhere in the back of my mind..
this year's "list" is:
get in shape (duh!) not just for me, but to look good in Patrick and Lisa's wedding...because looking good it what it's all about.
cook more! spend less money on eating out. Awful habit we have.
read more-since there are no more harry potters, i can focus my mind back to other books!
organization. organization. organization.
hang out with friends more often. have potlucks again!
spend less money on things I don't need.
...with that, save money.
I think that rounds it up on the resolutions.
I hope this has been a fun read for anyone who reads this. I have to keep my link on that tarpforlife page!

Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure (I really hate that word!).
you wish your brother did this for you!

oh yeah, I went out of the country..woo! no plane yet..just a small cruise to Cozumel, Mexico.

I think that's good. All of these are on my Flickr account.

this is for dan
Almost 8 months with no post..i'm sure everyone has been waiting in anticipation.
In review;
John and I live together on our own now...in the ghetto.
We still have the cutest dogs. Albert and Penelope.
We have a cat. Sort of. We're taking care of Dan and Christy's while they're on the move to Oregon. I'm going to keep her...sssh!
I still work at Cafe Sunflower and nanny lil' Amelia.
I think that's it.
Here are some pictures.

eeeek!
there is a mouse in my kitchen right now. i can hear him. john is asleep and the mouse will go who-knows-where in the house if i try to catch him. eek! it is cold outside..poor guy.
this is not the first time i've heard him. i think what i'm terribly afraid of is it's not a little, cute mouse at all....but a giant, man eating rat. eww! i need a cat, fast!
